Civic Engagement

Civic engagement means working to make a difference in the civic life of our communities and developing the combination of knowledge, skills, values and motivation to make that difference. It means promoting the quality of life in a community, through both political and non-political processes. It refers to the ways in which citizens participate in the life of a community in order to improve conditions for others or to help shape the community’s future. This term has been primarily used in the context of younger people. CitizenLab wants to offer a digital platform to city governments so they can communicate with their citizens.
