We have worked with +125 governments across 11 countries to launch digital citizen participation. Now, we’re looking for reliable partners to join our forces, and shape local democracies for the digital era together.
In 4 incredible years, we’ve had the pleasure of working with (local) governments in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States. Our e-democracy platform supports municipalities as Rueil-Malmaison (France) and metropolises as Peñalolén (Chile) alike in establishing online participation. We’re excited to continue this journey with passionate professionals who are driven by the same mission: to build digital democracies.
Why a partnership programme?
🏛️ We believe we can make a bigger impact via partnerships. Every community can benefit from digital citizen participation, regardless of size or location. We want to use our platform and contribute to public decision-making around the world by making it more effective, transparent, and collaborative. This is an objective we cannot achieve alone.
🌍 We believe in combining local expertise with global support. We’re Civic Tech enthusiasts, who continuously invest and improve our platform, technology and services. We realize that on the ground implementation requires practical know-how and a deep understanding of the local context. That’s why we’re eager to work with local experts who are passionate to make a change in their community/country.
🎯 We believe online tools and offline relationships are key. We offer a universal, digital platform but still acknowledge the importance of a personal approach. Combining online and offline methods isn’t only crucial in participation, it’s also vital in impactful collaboration.
What does the partnership programme offer?
Partners are value-added resellers who are looking to extend their business by consulting, selling and implementing our participation platform for clients in the public sector. It doesn’t matter whether you’re based in Germany, Lithuania, or South-Korea. Partners are goal-oriented, proactive, great communicators, familiar with project management and can give value-added workshops. If you top those skills off with a local network, then we want to hear from you.
Partners can expect the following from our partner programme:
- A complete citizen participation toolbox 🖥️ : our SaaS (software-as-a-service) platform entails 8 participation methods, a user-friendly interface and the technology to generate data-driven insights for decision-makers.
- Tools, assets and support to kickstart our journey together 🚀: we invest in our partners via training, resources and technical support. Partners are part of the team: we learn from each other and enjoy working together.
- A win-win situation 🤝: we bring the platform and a solid support system to the table and partners their local expertise; together we deliver a great solution for our mutual clients. Our goal is always to establish long-term, value-added and mutually beneficial partnerships.
Are you a consultant, urban planner or agency looking to offer a one-time solution to one of your clients? We are available to extend your offer with our participation platform via our agency program. Visit our partnership page to receive more information.

Søren Kielgast (Business Developer Denmark) 🇩🇰:
“As advisors, we were lacking the tools to maximize the citizen participation effort of both cities and governments. In CitizenLab, we found a supportive partner that has a deep understanding of how to bridge the gap between citizens and local municipalities. In just a few months, we rolled out the platform in five Danish municipalities, something we could never have hoped for at the start of our journey. CitizenLab proves to be a supportive and purpose-driven partner: we are in this together.”
Pablo Valenzuela (Business Developer Chile) 🇨🇱:
“My partner Magdalena and I were delivering services to make local governments more participatory but were lacking the tools to maximise our impact. Partnering up gave us the opportunity to represent CitizenLab in parts of Latin America. Together, we already rolled out the platform in 10 Chilean cities and we are looking forward to the future.”
