The Ministry conducts thorough economic analyses and suggests policy initiatives in areas imperative to economic growth. The main mission of the Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs is to create future-oriented conditions for growth for both citizens and companies in an increasingly globalised world.

The Danish government launched Challenges.dk, driven by Erhvervsstyrelsen (Danish Business Authorities). During the coming year, both local governments, citizens, and organisations will be able to participate in regional challenges to improve business conditions in Denmark. These challenges will run in the following 5 regions: Hovedstaden, Sjælland, Syddanmark, Midtjylland, and Nordjylland. The public launch is foreseen for March 2017.

The first challenge on CitizenLab will run in the region of Sjælland (Zealand) and will be about doing business in the Sharing Economy. Citizens, companies and local governments can share their proposals for an ideal business environment in which SMEs in Zealand could fully capture the growth opportunities of the Sharing Economy. The Danish government will allocate a total of 100.000 DKK in prize money to the participants coming up with the best solutions. Everyone is invited to share their thoughts and to vote for or against proposals. Input from Twitter on the hashtag #regionsjællanddeler2017 will also be imported to the central CitizenLab platform.
