CitizenLab is gekozen als één van de 5 finalisten voor de  4YFN Smart City Award. Op de Smart City Expo in Barcelona, die plaatsvindt van 15 tot 17 november 2016, zal CitizenLab zich voorstellen tijdens de finale op 17/11. We zullen ook een stand hebben tijdens de expo; de perfecte gelegenheid om ons daar te ontmoeten!

4YFN Smart City Award

Voor het tweede jaar op rij zal 4YFN een Award op Smart City Expo uitreiken aan het meest opkomende bedrijf rond Smart Cities (nl. oplossingen die een grootschalige impact maken op het welzijn van de burgers in een stedelijke omgeving). Van de bijna 90 inzendingen, verspreid over meer dan 50 steden in 27 landen wereldwijd, selecteerde men CitizenLab als één van de vijf meest veelbelovende Smart City startups.

Startups die gespecialiseerd zijn in technologieën, producten of diensten binnen het slimme stad ecosysteem, bijvoorbeeld in duurzaamheid, ICT, stedenbouw, elektrische mobiliteit, energie, milieu, onderwijs en openbare veiligheid, werden aangemoedigd om deel te nemen. Bedrijven konden zich voorstellen, ongeacht in welke fase van ontwikkeling ze momenteel zijn, zolang ze konden aantonen dat hun startup al een globale, sociale of economische impact heeft gehad, met het potentieel voor wereldwijde groei.

CitizenLab (Brussel, België) is een participatieplatform waarop burgers hun stad kunnen co-creëren. Burgers plaatsen voorstellen, werken deze samen uit en stemmen vervolgens op hun geprefereerde voorstellen.

Comodule (Tallinn, Estland) is the OEM supplier of connected vehicle technology for bicycle and scooter manufacturers. They supply full connectivity technology stack including hardware for the vehicles, mobile application for the end-users and online data analytics software for manufacturers/fleet operators.

Energy Elephant (Dublin, Ireland) builds and explores energy data using artificial intelligence. Their mission is to help organisations make better energy decisions by organising and analysing their energy data.

Vessla (Oulu, Finland) has created a completely cordless IoT screen that supports wireless communication. It can replace posters, bulletin boards and printed paper labels and it consumes 99% less energy than LCD and LED displays.

WesmartPark (Barcelona, Spain) is like an AirBnB for drivers wishing to park their cars in the city. They connect private parking spaces with drivers so that residents or owners of the parking space can get extra revenue by sharing their space while drivers can park faster and cheaper.
