This Thursday 1st of June 2017, CitizenLab will join an expert panel of Presidents, Ministers and forward thinking influencers in a discussion of how governments could improve transparency, implement crowdsourced crime prevention and make use of Blockchain technologies.
GovTech Pioneers Festival 2017
The Pioneers Festival in Vienna is one of the most reputable technology innovation fairs in Europe. 2500 tech founders, innovation executives, investors and journalists meet to build partnerships and shape the future.
The Future of Governments is the main focus this year, since Blockchain, Energy Solution and Citizen Participation are hot technology topics trending upwards in the last months. 25 prominent experts from the public sector are invited to discuss GovTech and how governance will evolve in the close future. The goal is to understand how governments could improve transparency, implement crowdsourced crime prevention and improve healthcare.
Amongst the experts are Presidents, Ministers, political advisors and forward thinkers. Andrus Ansip – Vice President of the EU Commission, Daniel Korski – Former Special Advisor to David Cameron, Rosen Plevneliev – Former President of Bulgaria, Ulrike Huemer – CIO of Vienna,… just to name a few.
CitizenLab’s Vision on the Future of Governments
CitizenLab, a Saas platform for governments and municipalities to facilitate citizen participation, is one of the 5 start-ups hand-picked to join the Future of Governments discussion. Wietse, founder and CEO of CitizenLab is in Vienna to act as panel member and present his vision on a transparent democracy: one that efficiently sources citizen intelligence to make better informed decisions. He will also talk about the possibilities of Blockchain technology as a way to disrupt the current modus operandi of our democracies.
It’s an incredible honour to be hand-picked as one of Europe’s most promising GovTech start-ups and CitizenLab will take the opportunity to explain the mission of the company, namely to reshape the way we – as a society – interact with governments.
On the agenda:
- Blockchain is evolving fast – will governments be able to make use of it?
- Energy Solutions for a healthier urban environment.
- Citizen Collaboration – how can citizens cooperate with their governments to improve and develop public services to provide greater transparency, interaction and efficiency?
We would love to meet you there
